Welcome to The Mother's International Institute Of Education

The Mother’s International Institute of Education is a school that follows the educational philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother of Pondicherry Ashram.

Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have laid the foundation for a new kind of education that acts as the anvil towards forging out our educational endeavour – The Mother’s International Institute of Education.

“The aim of education is not to prepare a man to succeed in life and society, but to increase his perfectibility to the utmost.”

The message received through the prophetic words of the Mother of Sri Aurobindo Ashram is the principal driving force behind our endeavour. We aim to establish an educational institution that will help students become perfect human beings in the future. To achieve this goal, we have put in place the necessary infrastructure. The Mother’s International Institute of Education, under the aegis of Sri Aurobindo Academy Trust, has readied with the comprehensive infrastructure that includes spacious classrooms, experienced and accomplished teachers, ample space for physical activities, an academically focused environment, and, of course, a spiritual ambience with the Grace of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

Here our thoughts will be exposed to Integral Education which focuses on the development of the faculties and qualities that form the backbone of all meaningful learning. An individualised approach will be adopted to bring out the full potential of children. The focus will be on a holistic approach that encompasses mental development, physical and emotional well-being, with an emphasis on self-understanding and introspection. To that end, our methods and approaches have the following characteristics:

  • A friendly, safe, supportive environment that encourages self-discipline and introspection.
  • An emphasis on inquiry-based learning rather than rote-based learning.
  • An encouraging interdisciplinary approach to learning, allows children to integrate knowledge from various subjects for a more holistic and self-developmental experience.
  • A direct focus on developing powers of the mind and qualities of the heart through special programmes and classes.
  • The teacher often leads by example to inspire learning and creates an environment where collective learning and sharing of skills are encouraged.

The unprecedented experiment in education that was launched by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother through the opening of the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education in Pondicherry is our inspiration for the establishment of this educational institution.
